WHAT IS IT?

Conceived as a new tool for disseminating the collection collection, OPEN/FRAC is a digital project conceived using digitised works from the Frac Grand Large collection, using a photogrammetry process. This involves recreating the shapes of an object in space space from a number of photographic shots.
An immersive experience, OPEN/FRAC allows you to discover a rich selection of works throughout Halle AP2.

THE COLLECTION

The Frac Grand Large - Hauts-de-France collection reflects the diversity of contemporary art. With more than 2,000 works, it is based on emblematic currents such as Pop Art, Minimal Art, Fluxus, etc. Internationally recognised, it is also developing a line of acquisitions focusing on design from the 1960s to the present day.
On the strength of this diversity, the Frac Grand Large is developing, both within its own territory and internationally, a range of activities to promote and raise awareness of contemporary art, through a variety of exhibitions.
Behind this wall are the Frac's reserves. They are kept in crates, which makes it easier to move the works around.
Between 300 and 400 works are taken out each year.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Equipped with your tablet/smartphone, enter Halle AP2 and discover the selection of works and recordings made by the students, in the form of texts, poems, discussions... Ready for this immersive digital experience?

DESIGNED WITH WHOM?

This selection of works is the fruit of a collaboration with the pupils of a 3rd year class from the collège Gaspard Malo in Dunkirk. After discovering of the Frac and its reserves, each pupil was invited to choose his or her favourite work and to comment on it in the form of texts, poems, discussions, etc.
